What's new with Grok: one plan, and Bots that ask before they act

What came out: The X Subscription on October 12, 2026, and Grok Bot updates from October 7 to October 27, 2026

Grok had a busy October. On October 12, the company behind Grok put 4 products into one plan, called The X Subscription. All month, Grok Bot also got new skills, like sending email from its own address. Anything it sends from there waits for your OK first.

What is The X Subscription?

It is one plan that covers 4 products:

  • Grok for chat, voice, and making pictures and videos
  • Grok Bot, which the company calls "AI teammates that get work done"
  • Cursor, a tool for writing code with AI
  • X Premium, which adds a checkmark, creator tools and fewer ads on X

These were the prices listed on October 12:

  • Free: $0
  • Plus: $8 a month
  • Premium: $30 a month
  • Super: $100 a month
  • Ultra: $200 a month

Want Grok Bot? It comes with the Premium, Super and Ultra plans. The Plus plan does not include it.

Prices change, so check x.ai/pricing for today's prices and to see which plan includes what.

Already pay for SuperGrok, Cursor or X Premium? Nothing changes unless you want it to. You can keep your plan. Or you can switch in your billing settings and get back the unused part of your old plan.

What can Grok Bot do now?

Here are the updates from October that matter most to a business owner:

  • October 7: Bots can build slide decks with you and hand them over as PowerPoint or Google Slides. They can also send emails with headings, bold words and lists.
  • October 11: A Bot can get its own email address. Emails it sends from there wait for your approval on a draft card. QuickBooks Online can now be connected. And some actions can't be undone, like sending, posting, buying or deleting. Before those, a Bot checks your messages for your approval.
  • October 22: Bots can build Pages, like reports and dashboards, and keep them up to date. They can also make videos from a description or a picture.
  • October 27: A new Find unused subscriptions template cancels the plans you pick from the ones you still pay for. Bots confirm with you before they change anything.

Try this: find the subscriptions you forgot about

Most business owners pay for at least one tool they stopped using. Here is a low risk way to try Grok Bot.

  1. Open Grok Bot and start the Find unused subscriptions template.
  2. Let it show you the list of what you still pay for.
  3. Go down the list yourself. Pick only the ones you are sure you want gone.
  4. Read each approval before you say yes.

Then try a second job:

Make a 5 slide deck that explains my services to a new client. Give it to me as Google Slides.

What should you watch out for?

  • Logins and cards. Grok Bot has a Vault that can store your logins and payment methods. It can also shop and place orders that you approve. Only add what you are comfortable with. Read every approval card closely.
  • Your plan. Grok Bot needs Premium or higher. Check x.ai/pricing before you pay.
  • Your clients' privacy. Think before you connect your client email or your books to any AI tool.

The bigger picture

Here's the thing. Every big AI company is now building helpers that do the work and then wait for your yes. Look for that in any tool you pick. It does the work, and you stay the boss.
